Minis Make Comics – 60 Opening Shots Of Small Press Expo This Weekend

I’m delighted to be at Small Press Expo in Bethesda, Maryland this weekend after missing last year’s show due to a flood at my house. I was gutted to miss it in 2014 since in 2012 and 2013 the show had a major impact on my understanding of comics and the significance of the mini-comics and handmade comics commmunity to the growth of the medium. In my first year at SPX, the Library of Congress began adding to its mini-comics collection, a relationship that has continued, and I was doubly pleased to hear, when walking around the floor, a couple of different university-based librarians informing comics creators that their books would be going into an archival collection as well.

It’s a great year to be at SPX, with plenty of attendees to keep the aisles buzzing and lots of new books out to peruse. More on that later. For now, 60 opening photographs of the floor of the show.
