How Supergirl's Origin Intertwines With Her Cousin's

After seven decades, everyone knows the origin story of Superman. In the video below, the cast and crew of Supergirl talk about how Kara Zor-El's history is tied into that origin story as well. Where Kal was sent straight to Earth, Kara's ship got stuck in the Phantom Zone for 24 years before making its final destination. Her mission was to protect her cousin, now he was fully grown and established and she was still 12 years old. The video includes executive producers Ali Adler, Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter along with stars Melissa Benoist and Mehcad Brooks.

Supergirl premieres October 26th on CBS.
