Tatsumi Kimishima Becomes Nintendo President
Ever since Satoru Iwata tragically passed away in July, there has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding who would become President of Nintendo in his place. Many thought either Shigeru Miyamoto or Genyo Takeda would take the place as they have been acting as interim holders of the position in the absence of a permanent holder.
Indeed, neither of them got the job though, as Nintendo have today announced Tatsumi Kimishima as the new head of the company. He will be most recognisable to Nintendo fans as the head of Nintendo of America, before Reggie Fils-Amie took over the job.
He also had roles at the Pokemon Company too, while holding financial positions at Sanwa Bank for 27 years prior to that. On the surface this seems to be guided by a more business minded Nintendo, rather than the get in front of the camera charm of Iwata, but time will tell how the relationship between Kimishima and fans evolve.
