Exclusive – Doc Savage Gets Caught In The Spider's Web

This December, Chris Roberson is returning to the Man of Bronze with a new series Doc Savage: The Spider's Web. The iZombie co-creator wrote Dynamite's previous Doc Savage: Man of Bronze series and is now joined by Cezar Razek (Red Sonja: The Black Tower).

In the series, the iconic explorer/scientist and his team respond to a devastating earthquake in South America only to find that it was no natural disaster. The investigation leads to the discovery that a number of isolated cases are in fact related and linked to a menace from Doc's past.

Writer Chris Roberson says:

Working on Doc Savage has been a childhood dream come true. In our previous mini-series Man of Bronze, we laid out a decades' long career for Doc, one that remained faithful to Lester Dent's original vision of the characters in the 30s and 40s, but that also bridged the gap from the pulp era to the modern day. With The Spider's Web, we're able to use that long history as backdrop, and to tell several different stand-alone adventures that combine into a larger story.

Doc Savage: The Spider's Web #1 will feature covers by Wilfredo Torres (Batman '66) and Marc Laming (Planet Hulk) in both color and black-and-white versions. There will also be a blank/sketch cover or Blank Authentix edition. The first issue will be solicited for release in December in Diamond Comic Distributors' October Previews catalog.
