CD Project RED Say Cyberpunk 2077 Production Is Ramping Up

cyberpunk 2077

We learnt a month or two ago that we likely won't hear from Cyberpunk 2077 until at least 2017.That doesn't mean it isn't progressing though. The game promises to be quite something as the Witcher developer moves into something else entirely to create a pretty rad looking sci-fi landscape.

Speaking to IGN, CD Projekt's Joint CEO Marcin Iwinski told the site why the game was announced so early, before going dark. He said:

We released the Cyberpunk teaser trailer because we wanted to see how gamers felt about it. We were super excited about the project internally, but what if it wasn't the right thing [for us]? But the response has been incredible. Now it's just up to us to deliver. We're hard at work on it.

He then added that production is beginning to ramp up on the project, meaning that this game is getting closer to reality:

You can craft swords for 12 years, but you might get burnt out. People might want to leave and go work on something else. We're excited to switch to guns. We intended to keep [the team] energized with Cyberpunk. The core team is working The Witcher 3's expansions, but more and more people are moving over onto Cyberpunk.

I'm so excited to see what CD Projekt RED can do with this kind of property. We know they can do fantasy in and out. I can't wait to see what a sci-fi world in context of the studio looks like though.
