Grand Theft Auto V Has Sold 52 Million Copies In Total

Yesterday I talked about how Grand Theft Auto V has sold 5 million physical copies in the UK alone. For anyone who dones't know about game sale averages, that's a lot, even internationally. However, it's really only a drop in the bucket when compred to the full numbers.

During an earnings report, Take-Two announced that the game has sold 52 million copies internationally. Again, this only accounts for physical copies, and there would have been a shed load of digital downloads too, especially considering the PC version just launched.

This more or less makes Grand Theft Auto the second highest selling game in history behind Minecraft (depending on your parameters). Wii Sports beats those two at 80 million sold, but I tend to not count that as it came bundled for free with every Wii.
