Byrne explained his method,
I thought quite a bit about how I would handle this piece. The FF1 homage popped into my mind immediately, and I was well pleased when Scott approved the idea on his visit to Byrne Central.
But then there was the question of the STYLE of the piece. I didn’t want the FF aspect to overwhelm the LOEG aspect. It should be something of a “what if,” specifically what if I had really worked on the series.
Since the drawing is in Scott’s LOEG sketchbook, I had a lot of “advice” from the artists who’d already done drawings. I looked thru those pages, kind of soaking them in, and then settled upon the style I use
