Bleeding Cool Magazine Opens Its Doors To Smaller Publishers, Plus An Inside Look At #16(UPDATE)

Bleeding Cool may be a website, but we actually believe that continuing to support print makes a difference and that long-form discussion of comics is just as important as short form. It's in the long form that we find those moments to hear what comic creators have to say most fully and give the industry the consideration and analysis it deserves–and that's why we put our nose to the grindstone to produce Bleeding Cool Magazine on a bi-monthly schedule. When I found myself speaking to an experienced editor recently, they asked me, as EIC of the magazine, what our schedule for publication was, and I replied, and then they asked our page count, and when I said it was over 100 pages each time, they were pretty shocked and impressed.

Sure, it's hard work. But we put ourselves into every page of it, and bring in a host of contributing writers who have some of the most interesting voices on the medium right now.

BCMag16_Cover_FinalBut Bleeding Cool Magazine has been undergoing new developments. Recent issues have been more specifically themed with dynamic covers, from our Apocalypse issue (#14), to our Female Heroes issue (#15), and now our Call to Adventure issue (#16, out this week), we've been tapping in to the spirit of comics right now and plenty of the exciting things that are happening in the medium, as well as including insights into gaming, TV, and film. The next step in our evolution hits with issue #17, our San Diego Comic Con issue, as the magazine expands to a full 128 pages of the same good stuff, only now able to embrace a wider range of books, topics, and publishing perspectives.

On that note, we at Bleeding Cool Magazine would like to welcome you to learn more about the special program we are now running, starting with BCM #17,  that is designed to help promote smaller publishers and companies through advertizing.  According to Diamond, Bleeding Cool Magazine is the #1 comics magazine, and the sky's the limit with our expanding content. To give you an idea of the array of ad partners already taking part in the magazine, they range from mainstream publishers to indie publishers, collectibles and gaming companies, and established as well as up and coming conventions. It's a great thing to see the growing diversity at BCM and we'd like to thank those who have been our partners thus far, as well.

If you would like to learn more about the advertizing opportunities in Bleeding Cool Magazine, please contact Jim Kuhoric at jimkuhoric@bleedingcool.com. I'd be remiss as Editor, if I didn't also add that if you'd like to hear more about participating in BCM as a contributing writer, please contact me, Hannah Means-Shannon, at hannah@bleedingcool.com.

We'd like to give you a peek at our most recent issue, #16, out this week, to show off all our hard work and give you a sense of what Bleeding Cool Magazine has to offer:
