Dark Horse Want Retailers To Rip Up Their Star Wars #1. Are They Joking?

Once upon a time, Dark Horse Comics published Star Wars. Then they didn't anymore and Marvel did. Not that Dark Horse are bitter.

Much.

They have announced that for every stripped cover of any remaining copies of Marvel's Star Wars #1 retailers send it, they will get a special variant issue of the upcoming newly launched Barb Wire #1 with a cover by Adam Hughes.

It is April Fool's Day of course, and some sites are running pretend articles as a result, but Marvel have run this kind of promotion themselves before, with Deadpool variant covers and copies of DC's Blackest Night crossover.

And in a related promotion, Dark Horse says they'll be giving a real Bengal tiger to a lucky fan to promote their new title King Tiger. So, you know, there's that…

Also it's not entirely sure how many copies of Star Wars #1 retailers still have. or if Dark Horse's own Star Wars #1 would count towards the total.

Still, at least we get a fun Adam Hughes cover, whatever the reality.
