Dark Horse Brings Back Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo This May

For the first time since February 2012, Dark Horse is bringing back Usagi in his ongoing series with Usagi Yojimbo #145. The fantastic next chapter in the long-running series by Stan Sakai will focus on a new story about Usagi caught in a fight between his friend Kitsune and a ninja. The catch is that the ninja is determined to acquire the scroll Kitsune has stolen. One of NPR's best books of 2014, the long-running series by Stan Sakai has garnered a vast amount of critical acclaim, so the return of Sakai and his beloved rabbit ronin in Usagi Yojimbo #145 will be an exciting moment for fans.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with what this series has been about thus far, never fear. I'm here to share some information with you. The story has primarily been set at the beginning of the Edo period of Japanese history. The characters in the story are anthropomorphic, and the main character is a rabbit ronin, named Miyamoto Usagi. A fun fact for you: Sakai actually based that character on the famous swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. The books thus far have been primarily episodic, with some underlying larger plots. I haven't had the pleasure of reading any of them, but I think I will now! Usagi Yojimbo #145 is set to release this May!
