Peter Dinklage Joins Melissa McCarthy In Universal's Michelle Darnell
Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) is joining Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids) in a new comedy called Michelle Darnell. The film is based on an original character created by McCarthy, a powerful business woman who is sent to jail for insider trading and upon her release tries to rebrand herself as America's Sweetheart. The film is being directed by Ben Falcone and written by Falcone, McCarthy and Steve Mallory.
Its unclear what role Dinklage will play, but reports say he is likely the antagonist of the film. If this is true, Universal was never set on whether the part should be a male or female, just a good actor that could "chew up" every scene they are in. Others being considered for the antagonist were Jon Hamm, Sandra Bullock and Oprah Winfrey.
Michelle Darnell is slated to be released April 8th, 2016
