Preview The Bunker’s Second Arc Finale Out This Week – ‘The Future Is Here’

The Bunker, wave-making apocalyptic comic from Joshua Hale Fialkov and Joe Infurnari at Oni Press, has been building in tension over the course of its second arc, and the book has such an eye for total design that the covers, placed in comparison, reveal the logo for the comic slowly disintegrating under the pressure of this build (And if you hadn’t noticed that, check it out, you heard it here first).

The textures of it, some of which seem invented by Infurnari purely for this purpose, really scratch their way into your psyche.

But I digress in praise of the artwork on this series about recognizing via time capsule that oneself and ones own team are going to be responsible for the end of the world as they know it and the long road of attempting to somehow undo the seemingly already written future.

Issue #9, out this Wednesday, February, closes the second arc of the series, and Oni Press describes it thus, keeping spoilers at bay no doubt:

With a second bomb set to destroy Los Angeles, Grady and Billy must find it and stop it before more die. There is no turning back now. The Future is Here.
