Nintendo had a pretty big presence at The Video Game Awards last night and that is great to see. It doesn’t seem too long ago we were all pleading to them to give the Wii U great content. Now we have Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Brothers, Amiibos, arguably the best showing at E3 and an exciting slate of games coming in the future. The company has had a killer year.
That was capped off last night by showing the most in depth look at the new Zelda Wii U game. The footage showcased the huge open world, horses that don’t run into trees and jumping off said horses to bullet-time arrow enemies. It was pretty rad.
You can check out Shigeru Myamoto and Eiji Aonuma playing the game below, which is set to come out in 2015.
But all that pales in the earth shattering news that Myamoto’s Star Fox will be getting released next year before Zelda hits. This may be the biggest news of the year as Fox is set to get back into the cock pit with Slippy, Peppy, and Falco for the first time in 17 years. In fact, I’m not sure a bigger bit of entertainment news has been announced since that game initially came out.
While none of that hyperbole is true, I really like Star Fox and I’m pleasantly surprised the game will be getting such an early release date since there hasn’t been any public facing footage released yet.
