Godkiller And Rat Queens Top The Advance Reorders Chart This Week
Greetings from the coal face of the direct comics market. Where retailers try to increase their orders of certain comics ahead of sale. Where supply and demand and most accurately reflected, where you can see which books are hot, where new orders are coming in and how retailers are reacting to new, unanticipated desire!
Technically, Godkiller: Walk Among Us #3 tops the advance reorders numbers, but that appears to be because #3 was solicited as #4 by mistake and suddenly all the order numbers from #4 have transferred to #3, reflecting on the chart as advance reorders for the book. UPDATE: Actually, no, it seems while there was a problem with the order codes, the comic was made "order adjustable" because it was late. Normally orders go down – this time they went up 35%.
Rat Queens #9 seems to have had large amount of reorder interest in the last few days, joined by #10 also on the chart. The Fall Of Cthulhu gets on the chart partly because of its higher price tag, but Spider-Verse continues the tradition of Dan Slott's Spider-titles causing retailers to play catch up. A new Sandman gets retailers excited again, and Sex Criminals brings up the rear. As it were.
And for comics already being published, it's a good time for Marvel to make the Civil War collection available again after the Captain America movie announcement…
