Dynamite Announces Battlestar Galactica: The Death Of Apollo

If you were a child growing up with the original Battlestar Galactica television series, then you probably had a favorite between Apollo, Starbuck or Boomer. Well, if Apollo was your choice, then I have some bad news for you. Dynamite Entertainment has hired Dan Abnett (Guardians of the Galaxy) to kill him and Dietrich Smith is going to draw it. This is an event that was hinted at in the official TV series but never shown.

Captain Apollo (Richard Hatch) was one of the main characters of the series from 1978 to 1979 but when a sequel series was done in 1980 it was hinted at in the series that the iconic Viper pilot had perished during the intervening years.

In Battlestar Galactica: The Death of Apollo #1 the fleet has been travelling for years, and at last the human survivors seem to be leaving the war and the Cylons behind them. But the threats never go away. A voice from the past and a bizarre twist of fate leads Galactica into danger once again, and events will take place that will change everything forever.

Battlestar Galactica: The Death of Apollo #1 will be solicited in the October Previews catalog and slated for release in December.
