Tales Of The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

Eric Allard writes for Bleeding Cool:

Sometimes, a project just lands on your laps without any warning. That's what this Kickstarter project is. It's a comic book with 3 stories. Lydia, Julie and myself weren't planning on doing this project. A convention is heading our way this October; we started talking about ideas and that's how this project came to life.

Here's a quick resume of each story:

– THE GOOD, by Lydia Fontaine Ferron:  "Bloop" is just a fun, quick tale of a young boy who discovers that the pond next to his house is home to more than just a few frogs and fishes. It hides a very familiar and strange creature…

– THE BAD, by Julie Fontaine Ferron:  "Bluebeard" is the tale of Bluebeard as a young man, before he became the monster from the famous French folktale. He is a much more likable and naive character until he meets a woman who may not be what she seems.

– THE UGLY, by Eric Allard:  "Randolph Carter: House of the Unnamable" is a re-imagined story of H.P. Lovecraft's "The Unnamable". It's about a man who is called to check out a house that is believed to be haunted. But in it, he finds something much, much worse.

The thing that brought these stories together in one comic is how passionate we are as creators and storytellers and it shows in the work. While I have been inspired a lot by "American Comics", Julie and Lydia's influences are more of "European Style", creating diversity in the book, yet our art styles complement each others. Julie's storytelling and palette just makes Bluebeard's tale come alive while Lydia's story is just fun-filled and gives out a "Pixar" kind of feeling. As for myself, my story "House of the Unnamable" is just a love letter to H.P. Lovecraft. I'm just trying to make his creations fun and available to any new reader while keeping it grounded to his universe.

Our Kickstarter campaign is a chance to put our passion out there. Put it in the hands of readers. People who love comics, stories or just want to look at gosh darn pretty pictures. So check out the project, check out what this is all about. I believe the art will speak for itself.

But another thing…

Help us reach our goal of $2500 ($1352 to go as of this writing!). This weekend, to anyone who gives us a pledge of $15 and more and sends me a message with the words "Bleeding Cool", should the project be funded, I will add a 8×10 print of a special H.P. Lovecraftian Transforming robot: CTHULHUNICRON!

Print CthulhunicronSo there it is, just for you guys. But you have to act quick! We need this project to reach its goal se we can put it in your hands.

The tales of the good, the bad and the ugly is a 40 page comic with 3 stories from 3 passionate creators. We love what we do and just want to share that with you.
