You can see Joseph Gordon-Levitt this weekend in Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For but the actor seems to have turned his attention to working on to another project, the development of DC Comics’ Sandman. Gordon-Levitt is set to direct and produce the film based on a screenplay by David S. Goyer.
In an interview with Moviefone, talked about the complications of adapting the 75 issue comic series.
“Right now we’re working on a script. It’s me and Goyer and the screenwriter and Neil Gaiman, as well as the good folks at DC and Warner Bros. It’s a really cool team of people. It’s a lot of the same people who worked on the Nolan ‘Batman’ movies.”
“There’s a reason people have been trying and failing to adapt ‘Sandman’ for the past 20 years,” he said. “It’s such a huge world. We’re definitely talking about in terms of a whole world.”
Sandman is still in the early stages of development and doesn’t have a release date… but we know Warner Bros / DC has a few extra lying about.
