101 Uses For An Abandoned Comic Publisher Logo

That particular logo of DC Comics, known as the DC Spin, was abandoned after a court case with DC Shoes. DC Comics sued the shoe manufacturer over their logo, featuring the letters DC and a star, only for the court to realise that DC hadn't actually registered their logo as a trademark. Consequently, DC Shoes sued DC Comics and were successful, DC Comics having to pay a six figure sum to DC Shoes every year for the use of their own logo, until they replaced it with the DC Flip.
