Watchmen: The Signed, Sketched And Steaked Edition – The Most Exclusive Comic Of San Diego Comic Con 2014

Watchmen Dinner CoverWho watches the Watchman… eat? This San Diego Comic Con… it could be you.

IDW have published the Watchmen Artefact Edition, reprinting selected pages from the mist celebrated graphic novel of all time, Watchmen, in a fashion that resembles the original art as closely as possible.

But at San Diego, they will be creating an exclusive version that will number 25 copies. And that's all there will ever be. With an exclusive variant painted Rorschach cover by Watchmen's co-creator Dave Gibbons. And just enough copies to fit round a table in a private dining room in a premier restaurant in the Gaslamp area of San Diego, minutes from the Convention Center.

Because that's what's happening. A steak dinner with Dave Gibbons, who will sign and sketch in each and every copy for the folk who have pre-ordered the book, only available at this event. With a professional photographer will also be on hand to provide proof of the provenance. The sketch, you with the book, you with Dave, you with the book and Dave, you stroking Dave's hair and Dave issuing you with a restraining order. Which he will then sign.

It will cost you $500. The pre-order form has just this second gone up on the IDW website at www.idwpublishing.com/gibbons. But you know these will be gone very shortly. And which of the 25 will be the first to put it up for $1000 on eBay?

If you want it and you have the cash, fortune will favour the fast fingered.
