Just some clarification on the new Predator movie, courtesy of the man set to direct and co-write it.
Shane Black answered a few questions from Collider, giving his reasons for not hitting the big red reset button.
Why start over, when you’ve all this rich mythology yet to mine?
Or, one might argue, why not reboot and get rid of any sort of previous missteps? Let’s not pretend there haven’t been any.
It won’t matter, of course, what way he goes if this film itself is good. Hopefully Black and his co-writer, and long time friend and collaborator Fred Dekker, can deliver the “inventive sequel” Black is promising.
Now, anybody got some guesses about exactly what “rich mythology” they might set out to mine?
