The 11th Hour And The Struggle For Imperfection

The 11th Hour. Timothy Lyon Jr., Johnny Morrow. Publishing Date: December 2014 (Planned).

Timothy Lyon Jr writes,

"The 11th Hour is the journey of William Bryant, a perfect citizen of Axiom, and his struggles to discover imperfection."

William Bryant is an Uppercity citizen who, just like everyone else, is perfect in every way. Day in and day out he continues life as so many others do. However, a natural curiosity was born out of the staleness of perfection and now takes over William's better judgment from time to time. After encountering the so-called "imperfect" from the Undercity, he sneaks his way down below Axiom's Uppercity, to a world he has never known. He discovers not a city that people claim to be hideous, rancid, and imperfect, but one that is perfect and beautiful in its own way. A city perfect through its imperfect. Immediately, William is caught between the Sentinels of High Authority ( police force of Axiom), and the 11th Hour, a group of people fighting for their lives for possessing the ability of energy manipulation. These two groups are in a constant war that holds more secrets than it does answers. William must fight to retain what is left of his old life as his friends and family crumble around his choices. Choices he makes while trying to survive his new life of violence and the unknown. This tale of a man's metamorphosis in a fresh new sci-fi classic will determine whether the imperfect 11th Hour survives or that the perfect will continue to shine on the world in its false portrayal.

The idea for the 11th Hour came as a simple idea before thanksgiving last year. Within three short months, the entire 16 issue series had been written. It has undergone much changes since then, and has continued to grow and expand in ways the creator had never thought possible.

We have seen many stories about the perfect society and while this may take place in such a setting, it is not the main focus of the story. It is only a part of the world that William Bryant, our main character, is part of. The overall story takes place around him and his metamorphosis as he encounters not only the physical dangers of a war he never knew existed, but he must fight for his friendships and relationships while experiencing the mental torture of the realization that his world was a lie. Bringing a new realism to the sci-fi genre, we hope to expose it with the help of Johnny Morrow and so many others. We see a story that people can grow to love, share, and most importantly enjoy, because that is the true success of a good story.

We feel the 11th Hour is different because of the thought and detail put into every little thing. All members of the 11th Hour are named after punk singers and musicians, considering their looks and nature were derived from the punk scene. Everything has been taken into account and the smallest things can lead to the biggest twists at any point in time. With the profound character development and the fresh visualization of new sci-fi concepts, The 11th Hour is not only captivating through its own story, but through the visualization of the artwork itself.

Timothy Lyon Jr. is the creator, writer, and art director for the 11th Hour. After three months of writing, and nearly six months of pre-production, we are reaching the point of launching our kickstarter to help finish our dream. It should be released next month and run until the 11th of August,

Along the way we were able to find the amazing illustrator, Johnny Morrow. He has been with us since the beginning and has never failed to produce a high quality concept or piece of work for the 11th Hour. He is beginning to get acknowledgement for some of his work and is continuing to rise as his skills continue to reach a powerful level.

We also had brought along Tim Beck, a rising composer who is consider one of the top nine emerging composers in the New York workshop, "Composing for the Screen". He has served under Henry Jackman, Sacred Tiger Music, and Rick Baitz within the past few years.

Tabatha Gonzalez, a Visual Effect and Motion Design graduate, was gracious enough to help us produce a title sequence for the kickstarter campaign, which will be in the video on kickstarter. With her help, we were able to create a title sequence, that shows the Uppercity, the Undercity, the powers of the 11th and much more.

Through the combination of our composer, illustrator, and VFX artist, we are not only able to expose ourselves to new people and fields ranging from Arizona, Los Angles, and Pittsburgh, but also to help expose them for the talented people that they are.

Timothy Lyon graduated with a Bachelor's in Visual Effects and Motion Design . He began writing in the middle of High school and has kept in touch with his passion for several years. Near the end of his college years, he had gotten so invested in his writing and has been growing stronger ever since. After directing and writing two short films, along with completing a few commercials, he has turned his attention to the graphic novel world in hopes of bringing new stories to people who can grow to love them as much as he enjoys writing them.

We are very thankful for the fan base that we currently have, but we know there is a lot more that is needed in order for us to get this kickstarter launched successfully. Hopefully through Bleeding Cool, we can expand into a new set of people, bringing to them a new experience.

Below is our Facebook page, our Twitter, the page of our artist, and the websites for our composer and VFX artist. We have also put up a preview link for our kickstarter. Do know this is not currently live, it is only for you to see what we have accomplished so far and what we hope on planning to do. Be sure to follow the 11th Hour on Facebook so you can see when we officially launch. Thank you for taking the time to read this article and for giving a chance to something, we believe, could be the next big thing.
