First Shots Of Grant Gustin Wearing 'The Flash' Costume

Two more comic book adaptations are officially heading for the small screen. Teen-friendly network The CW announced their fall slate for the 2014-2015 season today, with all the renewals, cancellations and new series pickups that come along with that.

Among the new shows picked up are The Flash, the spinoff of Arrow that’s been teased for a while now, which was pretty much a safe bet, and iZombie, Rob Thomas’ adaptation of the Vertigo comic.

Grant Gustin plays The Flash and his more human alter-ego, Barry Allen, who has already made a couple of appearances in Starling City alongside Stephen Amell’s masked crusader, but we’ll have to wait for the pilot of his show to see him in costume and in action.

iZombie follows a med student who unwittingly becomes a zombie and must take a job at a morgue to stay close to the human brains she has to consume to continue her new supernatural existence. Rose McIver plays her, and the series will follow her as she starts to investigate the deaths of the murder victims around her.

The two other new shows picked up by the network are sci-fi thriller The Messengers and soap Jane the Virgin.

The series which have been renewed at the network are Hart of Dixie, which will return for a fourth season in the fall, The 100 – getting a second season and Beauty and the Beast, which will return for season 3.

Not so lucky are The Carrie Diaries, The Tomorrow People and Star-Crossed, which were all cancelled.
