Amy Adams

Before you get your hopes up about a Sunshine Cleaning reunion, they will each be leading one of the films, not together. I know. Sorry.

Following the Jake Gyllenhaal one-two punch of Prisoners and Enemy, Denis Villeneuve will next work with Emily Blunt, in a drug cartel thriller called Sicario, according to Variety. The film is about “an officer from Tucson, Arizona who travels across the border to Mexico with a pair of mercenaries to track down a drug lord.” Presumably, Blunt will play that officer. Filming will take place this summer.

After that, probably towards the beginning of 2015, he’ll work with Amy Adams on Story of Your Life, the one based on the Ted Chiang’s short story, which sounds very intriguing and will see Adas as a linguist translating an alien language.

Sounds like we won’t be running out of visually stunning, frustrating head scratchers to puzzle over anytime soon if he keeps up this pace.
