Rob Thomas' iZombie CW Pilot Gets A Cop, A Best Friend And A Villain

There's no titular iZombie just yet, but Rob Thomas and The CW have found a trio of actors to star in their pilot based on the Vertigo comics. Deadline reports Malcolm Goodwin, David Anders and Alexandra Krosney are the first to join the cast.

The show will center around Liv, a med student who takes a job in the coroner's office in order to have easy access to the brains she must now consume after she's turned into a zombie. Unwittingly, she's drawn into solving crimes when eating the brains of the dead gives her their memories and a unique perspective on what killed them.

Goodwin will a police detective who begrudgingly accepts her help when her psychic abilities prove all too real, Krosney will be her unsuspecting best friend and roommate left bewildered by her change in personality, while Anders will play – what else? – the show's villain, a rich kid who gets in over his head with the drug business.

Will this get picked up to series? I'm guessing a lot may depend on how well the Veronica Mars movie actually does in theaters.
