I'm loving the transfer on the new, remastered Robocop Blu-ray, especially when compared to what we had before. It's brilliantly detailed, shows respect for the film's grain structure and hardly ever shows any print damage or compression artefacts. And it's intact too – this is the director's cut, in all it's bloody, loopy glory.
If you still need convincing, there's plenty of supplements, collecting old featurettes, a commentary track and a new 40-some minutes of Q&A with Paul Verhoeven, Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, Phil Tippet and screenwriters Ed Neumaier and Michael Miner.
Anyway, there we go. I love it, and I'm one of the folk looking forward to the reboot. I can only imagine Robocop purists are going to flip their lids for this disc.
