Why Take By Force What You Can Gain Through Diplomacy, Friendship?

coverRaymond Fields writes for Bleeding Cool:

The issue of war versus diplomacy has been debated since mankind has existed. It is perhaps the most important question humanity will ever face. History is replete with tragic examples of one entity or another rushing to war instead of using diplomacy to settle disputes. Far too often man has rushed to war instead of trying a diplomatic approach. One could argue as the nineteenth century military theorist Carl Von Clausewitz opined, "War is the continuation of diplomacy by other means".

IMG_0348While Von Clausewitz's belief may have some merit, I'm referring to peaceful diplomacy, tried and true relationship building. This thought provoking debate serves as a backdrop in a new sci-fi comic book project titled Earth Alliance. Earth Alliance is a new comic book from writer/creator Raymond Fields and is being produced under his newly formed publishing company Future Earth Entertainment. Earth Alliance is a sci-fi that provides a social commentary and can be described as serious sci-fi in a comic book.

The story is set in the year 2190 and deals with not only war and peace but has a familiar human element as well. Earth Alliance follows the story of the Ryan family. Led by Admiral Benjamin Ryan a highly regarded military leaders who is chosen by the newly formed Earth Alliance to prepare the Earth forces for a potential conflict with the Khutarri. The Khutarri war is not the only conflict Ryan faces as he is at odds with his rebellious eighteen year old son Thomas. Thomas is headed down the wrong path so he and his father must deal with some of the negative choices Thomas has made.
