There was, for a while, the real possibility of the “young Wonder Woman” show Amazon being developed as an off-season project for The CW but no longer. Their CEO, Mark Pedowitz, has now made it clear that all work on the show has been stopped.
The Hollywood Reporter grabbed some quotes from the man, arranged them in a story with the word “Dead” in the headline.
We did not go forward with it… It all depends on the script. We were very careful with Arrow and we’re being very careful with Flash. These are iconic characters so we’re going to be very careful with Wonder Woman. You only get one shot before you get bit.
“We’re being very careful with Flash,” he says. And that’s the thing. Because Flash was essentially given an open door to the schedules before it was ready – thanks to the Arrow crossover trickery – and Amazon was not.
So it essentially seems like there’s some projects they’ll commit to and then work to get right, and others they won’t. Others they are more… cautious about.
Read into this mess how you will.
