New Trailer For 300: Rise Of An Empire Takes To The High Seas

What this trailer did was remind me of how much I really liked 300 when it came out. The whole stylized, violent epic thing has been done a few times and started to feel a bit stale since then, but I think this looks pretty cool.

300: Rise of an Empire has been called a "mid-quel" because it takes place at the same time as the events of 300, but pulls the camera back to look at the war happening outside of the Battle of Thermopylae which took the life of Gerard Butler and his oily, muscley men in the first film.

Now, Aussie actor Sullivan Stapleton will take over the Greek armies, with Eva Green clamoring for war from the Persian side, and the battle takes to ships and oceans with some stunning looking battle sequences.

300: Rise of an Empire will be released on March 7, 2014. Count me in.
