danielradcliffe It’s almost time for AFM, which means it’s time to hear about dozens of movies that you will probably never get the chance to see.

Daniel Radcliffe will play British Olympic runner Sebastian Coe in a new biopic called Gold, which will chronicle Coe’s rivalry with teammate Steve Ovett in the run-up to the 1980 Moscow games, and which doesn’t sound like it got greenlit because of Rush at all. Radcliffe will reunite with The Woman in Black director James Watkins on this. [Variety]

Dustin Hoffman, Alfred Molina and Kathy Bates are starring in Boychoir, about an 11-year-old from the wrong side of the tracks who finds the meaning his life when he ends up in a choir school and discovers he has a real knack for it. A worldwide search is on for an unknown to play the kid. [Deadline]

• You can’t have too many haunted house horror flicks right? (Wrong, says this writer.) Another one is on the way from Wentworth Miller, who wrote Stoker, and director DJ Caruso, it’s called The Disappointments Room, and it may star Kate Beckinsale as a mother who moves her family into an old house and begins experiencing ghostly encounters. Really, when will people learn?! [THR]

• A Canadian thriller called Man Vs. has cast Chris Diamantopoulos as the host of a reality series who is dropped off into the wilderness, where he must “more than” fend off the elements. Look, how bad can it be? It’s Canada, so maybe he taps some maple syrup and a friendly bear helps him get home. [THR]

Susanne Bier should be getting Serena ready for us since we’ve been waiting for years now, but instead she’s taking on a bunch of new projects, the latest of which is A Second Chance, and which will star Game of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. It will be Jaime Lannister’s first Danish-language film in more than a decade. [THR]

• True life thriller Reclaim has begun filming and will star John Cusack, Jacki Weaver, Ryan Phillipe, Rachelle Lefevre and Luis Guzman. Phillipe and Lefevre play a couple who find trouble in Puerto Rico when they sightsee on a trip to finalize the adoption of their new daugther. Cusack will be the troublemaker. [Deadline]

• French animated hit Ernest & Celine has found voices for its English-language version. Forest Whitaker will play a bear and Mackenzie Foy will play a mouse in the film about an unlikely friendship, which is hoping to score an Oscar nomination so the original French version will have a qualifying run stateside before the end of this year.
