New Funko Pop Vinyls Include Metallic Harley Quinn, Batman 66 And X-Force Wolverine

Batman 66By Hannah Means-Shannon

Though San Diego Comic Con was inundated with hard to grab Funko Pop Vinyl exclusives, many directly from Funko and several from vendors, with the dust settling from the con, new Pops continue to steadily storm the market. The hottest buzz right now surrounds the pre-order status for an exclusive metallic Harley Quinn Pop offered by Conquest Comics as well as for the Batman 66 Pops being released in October, already on pre-order from Entertainment Earth. There's also a strange tide of exclusives turning up at the retail chain Hot Topic, and this week reputedly saw the appearance of an X-Force Wolverine, though some shops aren't stocked with them yet. For those looking further ahead, keep your eyes peeled for the Assassin's Creed Pops coming out in November, including a Plague Doctor.

Harley QuinnMetallic Harley Quinn from Conquest Comics is hitting the market at just the right time considering Harley's upcoming starring role in her own comic written by Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner. Her association with the Arkham Asylum video games couldn't be hurting her popularity either.

The Batman 66 Pops on the way are wide-ranging, from an Adam West-styled Batman with a pronounced cowl to the Joker, Robin, and Catwoman. It's a smart clustering around a set mentality from Funko. It also rides a tide of enthusiasm for the Batman 66 comic currently running by Jeff Parker and Jonathan Case. There seems to be no coincidence in Funko's decision to license at the same time.

Joker 66X-Force Wolverine, if you can find one, joins previous X-Force style Pops in grey, black, white, and red themes. Like all Marvel licensed Pops, he's a bobble head in style. Again, you have to wonder about the release dates for characters associated with other media, with The Wolverine film currently in theatres.

The release of new and exclusive POP vinyls shows no signs of abating this autumn, though it's a fair bet that Assassin's Creed varieties are really going to steal the show.
