The Rafael Grampa Commission Offer Is Real

Batman & Robin commission sample - Rafael GrampaìYou wake up and turn on your computer/tablet/phone/electronic pair of spectacles. There's an e-mail from someone offering the chance to get an original commission from Rafael Grampa, but you have to be quick, you have to pay by PayPal in advance and you have to do it now.

No wonder a number of people, spooked by Josh Hoopes pretending to sell Todd McFarlane and Art Adams sketches, or the Detroit scammers selling fakes sketches by Rob Guillory, Fiona Staples and Robert Kirkman, got in touch with Bleeding Cool.

We got in touch with the emailer and managed to verify his identity, Ivan Costa, well known for his involvement on the South American comics scene, including the FIQ comics convention in Brazil. He told us;

Daredevil commission sample - Rafael GrampaìYeah, Rafael Grampá has just opened a very short commission list – his very first! – and he asked me to manage it. There are currently only 8 spots for 11×17, full body, single figure art pieces inked over pencils on strathmore paper for US$1K paid through Paypal. You can find some samples attached. Two character pieces will go for US$1,8K and three characters for US$2,4K.

I explained people's concerns and he realised the issue, telling me;

Nightcrawler commission sample - Rafael GrampaìOn Monday Rafael forwarded me 42 emails he received over the years (some from 2009) about commission requests. I have contacted them before making the offer public as these guys were the first to ask about commissions. When I heard about these concerns I immediately called Rafael and woke him up (it was 7:30 here) to ask him to post a note on Facebook. He will do that promptly. And he said he will wake me up tomorrow morning too!

Something Rafael has now done. Thanks for those who got in touch, hope you got your commission spots and, as ever, take care out there.
