Mike Deodato On THAT Avengers Cover

avIan Melton wanted to add one extra tidbit to the Wizard World Portland report we ran earlier today. And it referenced a certain upcoming Avengers cover… Ian writes;

Mike Deodato Jr. was busy catching up with other creators and professionals, such as Andy Mangels, but was happy to sign autographs. When asked about his upcoming Avengers guest spot he quickly defended, without being asked, "I did not draw the cover!" He followed with, "Hickman wanted dragons and ninjas and after doing research, which I'm still trying to figure out, the two didn't mash up as being Hong Kong.  Ninjas, I had to tell him, are Japanese only!" I followed up with asking what they will be wearing and he said, "tuxedos mostly."

"Indiana Jones Temple of Doom type feel then?"

"Yeah!  Plus Shang-Chi will get to kick major ass!  But it's set in Hong Kong and will just be a fun crazy story, with lots of Shang-Chi!"
