The Peekaboo Revue seem to be pretty darn nerdy. Amongst their previous geeked-out Burlesque productions are distortions of Donnie Darko, Watchmen and The Avengers. See all of those below – but do put something nice and soft under your jaw before you click play.
This week they’ve released a video of what they’re calling “the very worst idea for a number ever,” a musical riff on some of the more memorable scenes from Terry Gilliam‘s Brazil. It’s all topped off with a bit of singing and requisite stripping.
Now, Brazil is the greatest film ever made. Does that make this the best burlesque performance ever staged? Hell no, but it’s certainly an entertaining kind of completely screwy mess. Stick around for the big finish.
Wow. Now excuse me while I make a very odd face at that all over again.
