Cramming Batman And The DC Animation Panel

Will Romine writes for Bleeding Cool. If anyone has seen his iPad, please let him know.

I'll admit.  As a little starfish, I never found time to do my homework until the bus ride to school.  I would furiously scribble out that day's tasks on the bus ride to school.  As an adult, I haven't gotten any better.  Rich suggested I cover the Dark Knight Returns Part II panel today, not knowing that I had never seen part one.  Fortunately I have a lifetime of procrastination experience under my belt to recover with style.   This morning, I threw on the Starro costume, threw back a 5hr energy, and threw open the iTunes Store to take in the latest offering from Warner Brothers Animated.
Holy Shit Balls Batman!

I have never seen a better, more faithful adaptation of a graphic novel. Ever!  I'm still shaking.

Now that I'm up to date, I'll take a break from writing this article to let Bruce Timm and co. tantalize me with the second half of their magnum opus.

2 hours later…

Holy Double Shit Balls Batman!

I've just seen footage from part 2 and definitely does justice to the graphic novel. Michael Emerson's joker is unlike any rendition prior, a conscious casting decision made by Andrea Romano.  In addition, Conan O'Brien makes a cameo as the talkshow host killed by the Joker.  In addition to the footage, some other news was dropped.

  • A Lego Batman movie is set to drop in 2013
  • Speaking of 2013, we can expect a Superman Ungrounded, based on Geoff Johns's Braniac storyline. And Justice League: Flashpoint, which begs the question:  Will the Timmverse cease to exist after this movie?

I, for one, am excited.  Can't wait for another slate of DC Animated goodness.
