It looked like a new trailer for Cloud Atlas from the outside. It’s called a sneak peak, it runs to 1:41, but once I hit play, I saw it was actually a clip from the film.
And then I realised just what clip it was going to be. And how it was going to end. And I couldn’t believe they’d spoil this surprise in the marketing.
But they have. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Turn back now… perhaps?
It’s not so much a huge narrative spoiler, due to the nature of the film’s complex, interleaved narratives, as it is a big surprise moment. The sort of thing that would send a wave through an auditorium if most of the audience didn’t know to expect it.
Well, Warner Bros. have put a dent in that now.
