A Plan For NYCC – Video Helpers Needed

This year, at New York Comic Con, I want to put together a new video for the Pogues song, Fairytale Of New York. A bit like Chicago did with Call Me Maybe but, you know, with a good song, that's relevant to the location.

NYCC has given the project their blessing and assistance, but what I need most are… collaborators. People who video cameras, who will be willing and able to get people to sing along with the song, even if they've never heard it before.

Naturally the first part should be set in the various Irish sports bars that surround the show. And the line "You promised me Broadway was waiting for me" should be filmed outside 1700 Broadway. Obviously. But aside from that anything should go. Cosplayers, celebrities, comic professionals, fans… whatever suits.

Bleeding Cool's Patrick Willems of the regular Afterwards They Will Explode videos is up for it, but we could use some help. Anyone?

Here's the song…
