Shootings Near Jim Hanley's Universe, Staff All Okay

Two have been shot and killed, and nine others injured in a gun incident in Manhattan this morning, just around the corner from comic store Jim Hanley's Universe, opposite the Empire State Building.

It is reported that 53 year old Jeffrey Johnson, a disgruntled ex-employee of nearby business Hazan Imports, opened fire on a 41 year old co-worker, then shot at passers by until he was shot by police. Others were injured in the crossfire.

Jim Hanley's Universe's Twitter account posted;

Due to police activity, JHU Manhattan will re-open in a few hours. Staff is ok, thanks to all for your concern & calls.

And on Facebook;

Hey guys, just want to let you know that everyone here is ok, we're holding down the fort until the police activity's over. Will post later when we're back open.

The staff are however being kept in the store while the police carry out their operation.
