Argo To Feature Cameos Of The Actual Escapees

Argo To Feature Cameos Of The Actual EscapeesBleeding Cool gets stories from all over the place. But this is the first we've had from a diplomatic reception.

In 1979, six Americans who had avoided being taken hostage in the US embassy in Iran by hiding in the Canadian embassy, were able to escape the country by ths US and Canadian governments being able to persuade Iran that they were making a sci-fi movie called Argo. Jack Kirby's production artwork for the planned Lords Of Light movie was drafted in to make the whole project seem real to the Iranians.

This year, a movie called Argo, based on their experiences, and directed by Ben Affleck, will be released. Kirby is played by Michael Parks.

What we've been told is that a number of the actual subjects of the movie will have cameo appearances in the film. Which came from one of the escapees themselves.

It wouldn't be the first real-life adaptationto have the subjects appear in the film themselves. But considering the events, it is likely to give the movie even more gravitas.
