Manifestations – A New Digital Graphic Novel By Raffaele Ienco For Top Cow, And The Pilot Season With Thrillbent

Manifestations is a new digital-only original graphic novel by Epic Kill's Raffaele Ienco for Top Cow, coming out later this year.

Announced at the Top Cow panel at San Diego Comic Con, Manifestations is the story of "a woman who is tormented by the ghost of her sadistic husband only to discover he has been brought back to life by her psychically gifted daughter."

And it's already being looked at as a film with Top Cow's partner, Content House.

As well as talking about the Kickstarted Cyber Force, it is described "while staying true to the core concept of CYBER FORCE, cybernetically-enhanced resistance fighters on the run from a monolithic international conglomerate, the essence of the new series will be bio-cybernetic steampunk, updated for a modern audience."

Top Cow is also launching a talent search for two new writers and two new artists to create comics for the company in August, asking people to submit work for the existing Top Cow character, Tom Judge.

And Top Cow are also relaunching their Pilot Season comic competition, but this time alongside Thrillbent.com, Mark Waid's digital comics portal, which means that all the issues will be… free. Titles will be released at a later date…

Chris Thompson wrote from the panel,

Top Cow have debuted a promo video for their CYBERFORCE Kickstarter campaign at today's SDCC panel, Top Cow: We Create … Innovation! Lots of explanation from Marc Silvestri & Matt Hawkins about their motivations and hopes for the project. Rewards include a limited edition hardcover, behind-the-scenes insight, original art, free sketches & more. Attendees were given a free CYBERFORCE ashcan for attending today.

Len Wiseman (Total Recall, Underworld) is joining David Hoberman & Todd Leiberman to produce the film adaptation of The Darkness, so it's looking even more likely to happen now. There will be more big news on the film front coming in the next couple of months, perhaps the long-rumoured Witchblade and/or Magdalena film?

Mark Waid has just appeared at the Top Cow panel to discuss how his online platform Thrillbent will be used to launch Top Cow's Pilot Season 2012. Waid has the distribution model to deliver the comics and Top Cow have the content, so they feel it's a perfect marriage. This partnership is a pre-cursor to Waid's announcement of other creators joining Thrillbent, which will happen at his panel later today. Unlike previous years, this Pilot Season will involve two rounds which will be separated to give concepts more of an opportunity to find an audience.

Top Cow will be releasing a digital-only version of Raffaele (Epic Kill) Ienco's MANIFESTATIONS through all the usual digital channels for $4.99. This is a complete OGN that has already been completed and is ready to go soon.

They also discussed their Talent Search, looking for two new writers and two new artists who will finally get their break through Top Cow.
