Fan Struck By Car Near SDCC Convention Center Pronounced Dead At Hospital

Fan Struck By Car Near SDCC Convention Center Pronounced Dead At HospitalSeveral reports are emerging this afternoon that a SDCC attendee was struck by a car this morning while crossing the street next to Hall H at the San Diego Comic Con convention center, and has been pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.  San Diego's 10news.com reports:

A woman reportedly in town to attend Comic-Con International 2012 was struck and killed by a car Tuesday in front of the San Diego Convention Center, where the highly popular annual event takes place, authorities reported.

"Apparently the pedestrian, as she went (along) the crosswalk, stumbled and fell and struck the vehicle as it passed by her," SDPD Sgt. Ron Glass told 10News.
Medics took her to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Numerous accounts on twitter indicate that the woman was one of the legion of Twilight fans camping out outside Hall H to await Summit Entertainment's presentation, as has become tradition for that dedicated group of fans in recent years.
