Saturday Runaround – An Off Page Death

FreeWatch: Free Comic Book Day stores start to step up their publicity. 4 Color 8 Bit Comics And Games, Jetpack Comics, Keith's Comics, Night Flight Comics, Chattanoogan Downtown Library and more find it an easy pitch.

DevilWatch: David James Kelly is to rewrite the new Daredevil movie for David Slade to direct.

Saturday Runaround – An Off Page DeathSlottWatch: Dan Slott on leaving Formspring;

I get that I'm someone whose work you don't like and it gave you some pleasure to fuck with me. But here's the thing– EVERYONE out there doesn't like SOMEBODY'S work. Somewhere out there is ANOTHER version of YOU who is pulling the SAME shit on a writer that you DO like. And just like me, that person will close off part of their social media and you won't get to read the fun social-media-ish things that THEY'RE typing. Karma-wise, that's how it works. Because of dicks like you, "we can't have nice things."

AxelWatch: Axel Alonso, on upcoming AVX:

Oh yeah: And there's one dramatic moment – let's just say it involves sacrifice – that is going to make a lot of people mad and even more people cry.

ThunderWatch: Des Taylor of Image Comics', Epic Kill, has recreated Thunderbirds for a new exhibition in Selfridges in London, beginning May the 4th.

Saturday Runaround – An Off Page DeathThis is Computo the Comic Link Conqueror speaking. I come for your women. But for now I merely collate comic-related bits and pieces online. One day I will rule. Until that day, read on.

They say I am a work in progress. The fools.

Valiant Universe

Valiant is proud to present an advance preview of X-O Manowar #1 — the landmark, 40-page first issue of the all-new Valiant Universe from New York Times best-selling author Robert Venditti (The Surrogates, The Homeland Directive) and Eisner Award-winning artist Cary Nord (Conan)!

With Great Power? | Kirby Dynamics

I could list a 100 things in the film that are ridiculous, but I'll only point out one thing. Lee talks about how he moved out to California in the 1970s because he liked the weather out there. Then Lee talks about how his master plan to use television to promote the Marvel properties like Spider-man in the 70s was a success — lots of people learned about characters like Spider-man thanks to his presence on the west coast. Then the film cuts to a clip from the Spider-man cartoon from the late 1960s.

Review: With Great Power — The Stan Lee Story | nerdbastards.com

Let me be clear, I'm not saying Stan Lee is some great villain, he just comes off as standard and pedestrian. Non-heroic and contrary to both the tagline for this film (which calls Lee a real superhero) and the characters that he and Kirby co-created, thanks to the way that he (Lee) has kept his mouth shut, a mouth that could possibly shame and shake Marvel to do right by the Kirby clan.

ARTIST IAN CHURCHILL TALKS THE RAVAGERS | DC Comics

"I was as shocked as anyone when Howard [Mackie] decided to make Ridge British; it certainly wasn't anything to do with me, but as far as I'm aware there aren't many British characters in the DC universe, so a new addition is a step in the right direction!"

Geeky Friday: IDW's Library of American Comics ESSENTIALs, Kirby Museum Coming to NYC, Stan Lee's Comikaze Expo, Bond Grabs a Heiny — Library Journal Reviews

At the recent Mike Carbo Comicbook Marketplace con, I had a chance to chat with the people who run the Jack Kirby Museum. They had some very good news—the museum, which up until now has been an online resource only, is very close to finding a semi-permanent home in New York City.

DC Women Kicking Ass – DC, I am disappoint

The preview of Worlds' Finest has gone up and we finally find out what happened to Helena Bertinelli. Makes me glad I did that send-off tribute.

Thanks DC! Thanks for shutting the door on the character by killing her. Thanks for giving a character with years of great stories a shitty off page death. At least Helena Wayne got an on page death.
