A Nick Fury, Agent Of S.H.I.E.L.D Movie?

By the time you read this, the audience should be settling down to watch The Avengers premiere.

And I’m sure they’ll love it. My review, like all others, is held back until Midnight GMT tonight but I’m sure you won’t be surprised to hear that it’s…shall we say… ‘fairly positive’ ?

If only because ravingly gushing sounds a bit unprofessional.

But where do we go in Marvel’s movie universe next?

In an interview given to MTV US today, Samuel L Jackson raised another tempting possibility to add to the Ant-Man, Guardians Of The Galaxy and Doctor Strange speculation.

How about a S.H.I.E.L.D movie?

It’s a lovely thought: A little bit of Mission Impossible, a little bit of The Boys.

Or, as Sam puts it:

“I don’t know how much of S.H.I.E.L.D. [Marvel] want[s] to expose…I mean, we’re not superheroes. We’re more of a shadow world. So, it would be more like ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’ with good toys—closer to a ‘Bond’ movie than a superhero movie.”

With Fury, Hawkeye and Black Widow fronting the movie it would be a great thing for fans. What do you think? Would the general moviegoing public go for that?

UK readers will need to be a little bit resourceful to watch this clip. But only as resourceful as me…
