Apocalyptic action-short Ruin has been online since yesterday, and already I’ve had a half dozen people ask me if I’ve seen it. I have, and it would seem, from all of the interest, that it’s well worth sharing.
Here it is, in full.
There’s a lot to like and admire about that short. I wish there had been a bit more depth, and that there were more beats in the central action sequence – shots were often frenetic without actually containing anything much. Shame that it’s such a generic setting, and that the designs are totally unsurprising too.
It’s nice to know it can be seen on the big screen, however, if you happen to live near an Attraktion cinema. I’d never heard of them before, but there you go – it says so in the credits.
I give it three weeks before we hear that director Wes Ball has gotten a deal for a feature film.
