First Set Photos Of Chris Hemsworth Filming Rush Reveal Ron Howard Going For Authenticity

Linda Ge writes for Bleeding Cool.

Chris Hemsworth looks totally transformed and wholly convincing as race car driver James Hunt on the set of Ron Howard's Formula One biopic Rush in the first set photos from London via Celebuzz. Just how much does he look like the real guy he's playing? Check out the comparison photos The Daily Mail put together.

The official synopsis reads:

Following their personal lives on and off the track, Rush follows the two drivers as they push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there is no shortcut to victory and no margin for error. If you make one mistake, you die.

Hemsworth will be joined on set and in the film by German actor Daniel Bruhl as the other driver, Hunt's rival Niki Lauda, Olivia Wilde as supermodel and Mrs. Hunt Suzy Miller, and perhaps even Russell Crowe in a cameo as actor Richard Burton.

We've already seen plenty of photos from rehearsal and pre-production on this movie, but now that principal photography has begun, the photos will hopefully get a little bit more exciting as the stars get to work playing their real-life counterparts. If Hemsworth perfectly embodying Hunt's messy blond hair, full body racing suit and of course, that confident ladies man swagger is anything to go by, the first looks at his cast mates should be quite a treat as well.
