"The Oxford writer Philip Pullman wrote a story in the DFC comic and hopes to provide another for The Phoenix. The self-confessed comic book devotee said: "It'll be thrilling to watch The Phoenix to take to the skies and carry the particular kind of delight I felt as a boy to everyone who reads it.""

ArchieExecWatchThe New York Post reports some real comics industry gossip, about how Nancy Silberkleit, co-CEO of Archie Comics, may be jailed next week for breaking a court order, regarding her behaviour at the publisher.

"In the latest twist, the eccentric exec showed up at the office on Dec. 12 with a former Indianapolis Colt player, whom staffers believed was her bodyguard.

"Silberkleit allegedly yelled at the employees while the athlete loomed in the background.

"The 57-year-old former schoolteacher claims her co-CEO, Jon Goldwater, has orchestrated the entire mess to oust her."
