This Christmas, Why Not Spend Time With Kelly Sue DeConnick?

Beginnings is an anthology project from attendees of the Australian Capital Territory comic book meetups. It currently will include the work of Ryan K. Lindsay, Shane W. Smith, Ele Jenkins, Tom Dullemond, Ben Rosenthal, Eleri Harris, Sam Cavanagh, Katie Ryan, Nate Soehardi, Gavin Thomson, Emma-Jean Stewart, Mike Perry, Stu Barrow, Lani Fernance, Robert Perrie and Alice Farquharson.

A hundred pages in glossy colour, a collection of stories about beginnings – action, romance, autobiographical, super-hero, and mythological, it will be funded by international Kickstarter equivalent Indiegogo.

It will be printed in Australia, "minimising the environmental impact". And then posted internationally doing the exact opposite.

And while some donations will get you badges, an original avatar for your social networks and $20 will get you a copy of the book. But those with a bit of extra cash can hire famous comic creators like a common house cleaner. Just for less money.

Such as getting an art critique from Steven Sanders (Our Love Is Real) for a hundred bucks. The same amount will get you a ten page script analysis by Kurtis Wiebe (Green Wake, The Intrepids).

Pony up an extra twenty and Kelly Sue DeConnick will give you a 45 minute Skype chat about the comics industry and your potential place in it… or possibly the weather, it's up to you.

And then $150 will get you a 22 page script analysis by Justin Jordan (The Strange Talent of Luther Strode.)

They're after $2000. So far they're half way there…
