Saturday Trending Topics: Generating Hope

Saturday Trending Topics: Generating HopeOf all the things I was pondering during this week of mixed news for Marvel, I kept coming back to this… what an unfortunate week for Tom Brevoort to not be on twitter (and I'm reminded of this at the moment because I see he's back in action just now, fresh from a vacation, it seems).  Because he'd have been spitting fire and tweeting thunder at many of us, over various speculations regarding the future fate of Marvel titles and other things. And in doing so in that inimitable cranky way that he has, he'd have let us know that it was all going to somehow work out in the end.    Because when Tom Brevoort doesn't have something to say on such matters, that's when you've really got to wonder. So welcome back, Tom. The comics internet missed you this week.

The Television Show That Hates You Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

When Big Bang Theory began, it presented geek culture to a mainstream audience in a relatively amusing fashion. It was mocking, but a kind of self-mocking. The audience enjoyed a kind of visceral geekness, sharing in the joy of a pre-Crisis issue of Flash, a Green Lantern lantern or even, more recently, seduction via the first appearance of Hellboy in Next Men. This week… not so much.
