Tintin will finally be with us next month. And by us I don't mean United States, as the picture is opening much later in North America, way off on December 23rd.
Some of the thinking there is that Tintin isn't well known in the States. How this "problem" is going to be resolved by giving European audiences a head start, though, I don't know. Is there some kind of assumption that the marketeers will be able to sell the picture better in America by referring to big, international box office?

What these pictures don't reveal are the real big hooks: the film's screenplay is credited to Steven Moffat, Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish.
