Tuesday Trending Topics: Surprise! Marvel Steals Tuesday

It'll take a very special kind of nerd to appreciate why this is so fascinating… but I watch the ebb and flow of what's hot and what's not in comics from BC's analytics from moment to moment very carefully, and I'd have bet any amount of money against Marvel occupying the top slot today– the eve of DC launching the New 52. That said: credit to both of the Big 2 for raising their game in recent months. DC rolled with BC's early revelation of the New 52 very well, Marvel is sticking to their long-term film/comic game plan, and… I suspect fall is going to be very interesting. In a good way.

JLI – From Foxy Margaret Thatcher To Plastic Man…

That would be a rather foxy Margaret Thatcher as opposed to the walking zombie we have now. And could that be Jackson King from Stormwatch and Monarchy up top perhaps?

A few days ago I reported on an IMDb listing of Cobie Smulders playing Marie Hill/Anelle, a Skrull character, in the new Avengers movie. I was promptly met with a chorus of people denouncing IMDb for being about as reliable as a chocolate teapot when it comes to pre-release info about films. Well, you make a good point, as anyone can contribute to IMDb, although all contributions of information undergo moderation before they are allowed to go live.

New James Bond Movie Seems To Have Its Name And Story

Jelena Mihailovic is a Serbian cellist and, apparently, she performed in front of Sam Mendes and some James Bond "producers" at Cannes. So "staggered" were they by what she was doing, they allegedly asked her to provide "the opening score" for Bond 23.

Eliza Dushku Stakes Daily Mail Over Hayden Panettiere

The Daily Mail ran a piece the other day in which it criticised Hayden Panettiere for charging $30 a signature at the Fan Expo Canada in Toronto this past weekend, claiming that she must have fallen on hard times.
