Comix Kiss Comix Cancelled, Blamed On Piracy

Comix Kiss Comix is an popular erotic Spanish comic. Or, at least, it was.

After 20 years and 239 copies, the comic has been cancelled, as sales have fallen from 30,000 copies down to 6,000.

The publishers blame the decision on internet piracy. They tried to fight the illegal scanning in and torrenting of their work but encountered shell companies in one country, servers in another and their lawyrs telling them it wasn't worth bothering.

Unlike other magazines, Comix Kiss Comix prided itself on only running original work rather than reprints, a step they refused to take, even as sales fell. Their work included that of Paco Roca, Erich von Gotha, Rubén del Rincón, Ferocius and the recently late Francisco Solano López.
